HISTORY
|
Peggy and Denny Plooster were and are the
supporting force of Performance Plus. The 160 acres of
land just a few miles west of Sioux Falls, SD was
purchased in 1936 by Peggy’s father, Lee Buck. In 1974
Denny started improving the farm by putting stalls in
the original barn and building an outdoor riding arena.
1980 the Indoor arena was built and the expansion
continued over the next 18 years as Deb built her
business.
|
|
|
Involved in the breeding of Bask/Crabet bred horses in
the1980’s, Performance Plus acquired a High Hopes Son
(High Jump) who was the inspiration for the Breeding
program.
Raising over 75 horses– and moving ahead with the
times—Deb is now part owner in Ali Ventures LLC
promoting the future...Ali Fire (Bask Afire) X Ali Cerise
(Cognac).
Showing will always be the highlight of Performance Plus
with over 25 National Championships and
|
|
multiple Top Tens, Regional Champions and Top fives.
Finding the horse and rider combinations is always a
challenge, but teaching both has many rewards.
Deb has two daughters, Brianna, and Chelsey Helberg.
Brianna competed for a few years as a youth and
adult. Husband, Keith, you will see driving the semi and
setting up at shows. He also enjoys taking his Harley
and riding across new country sides. Keith has two sons,
Ryan & RP.
Ryan likes the horses too, now in college, he will
continue to travel to shows in the summer months
grooming.

 |
|
strong commitment to educating people about horses that
has kept the business going and growing.
Lessons students learn from
the ground up, then they can decide whether they want to
trail ride, or compete.
From foals running in the
pasture to the National Champions on the picture walls
of the lounge you will feel the electricity that
promotes
the beauty and spirit of the Arabian Horse. |
